Professor Shatabda earned his Ph.D. from Griffith University in 2014, focusing on AI algorithms for protein structure prediction. He has published widely in reputed journals and conferences, served on editorial boards and review panels, and contributed to the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), IEB. His international research includes a stint in BioGeM Institute, Italy. He continues to supervise research projects and mentor students, having overseen over thirty undergraduate projects and more than twenty master’s theses. Additionally, he has authored educational books for children on computing.

 

From 2014 to 2021, he was the Undergraduate Program Coordinator at United International University (UIU), where he significantly contributed to curriculum development and faculty mentoring. He played a key role in securing UIU’s Computer Science and Engineering department's accreditations in 2015 and 2019. Additionally, he led the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at UIU from 2022 to 2023 and founded Bangladesh’s first undergraduate Data Science program.
