Introduction to Advanced Networking Concepts: Networking Architecture plus Layering. Network Technologies: Wireless Networks, Mobile and Wireless Communication System, Network Security: Basic Crypto, network threats, secure communication protocols such as SSL/TLS, IP Sec and DNS Sec. Advanced Protocols: IPV6, Routing Algorithms, SNMP, Networking Monitoring Tools. Emerging Trends: SDN, Network Function Virtualization. Performance Analysis: Performance Metrics (Delay, throughput, jitter, and packet loss.), Traffic Modelling (Poisson processes and queuing models.). Network Optimization Techniques: Load balancing, capacity planning, and resource allocation. Internet of Things (IoT) Systems: Architectures and connectivity options. Mobile and Wireless Communication Systems: 4G, 5G, and emerging 6G technologies.

Course Objectives

Course Objective:
The core objectives of this course are to:
• Provide a deep understanding of modern networking architectures and emerging technologies like 4G, 5G, 6G, and IoT.
• Develop proficiency in advanced networking protocols such as IPv6, routing algorithms, and SNMP.
• Introduce performance analysis techniques, focusing on key metrics like delay, throughput, jitter, and packet loss.
• Equip students with network security expertise, covering cryptography, secure protocols (SSL/TLS, IPsec, DNS Sec), and threat mitigation.
• Explore emerging trends, including Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
• Teach network optimization methods, such as load balancing, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
