Professor Dr.  Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman did his Ph.D in Machine Learning back in 1996 from Tokyo Institute of Technology, one of the finest institutions of Japan. He did his Masters and Bachelors from BUET in 1992 and 1989 respectively. He served BUET as a faculty of CSE Department for about 15 years and during his tenure in BUET, he served the CSE department as the head from 1999 to 2001. After taking early retirement from BUET, in 2003 he founded United International University (UIU) with the financial patronage of United Group. He worked there as a Pro VC for about 15 years and he served the same institution as the Vice Chancellor from 2018 to 2022. On 15th May, 2023 he started working for BRAC University as a professor of CSE Department in the school of Data and Sciences. After working at BRACU for one trimester, he joined State University of Bangladesh (SUB) as Vice Chancellor (Designate). After serving SUB one year, Professor Rahman came back to BRACU CSE department and since then he has been working at BRACU as a professor of CSE department till to date.
