Md Akhtaruzzaman Adnan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University, where he makes significant contributions to teaching and research. With over a decade of academic experience, he previously served as a faculty member at the University of Asia Pacific for 11 years, nurturing the next generation of computer scientists and engineers.
Adnan holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), one of Southeast Asia’s leading institutions, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Gazipur. His academic background provides a strong foundation in both the theoretical and applied aspects of computer science.
His research interests encompass Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Cybersecurity in Healthcare settings, Natural Language Processing, and Algorithm Design. He has authored several publications in reputed journals and conferences. Akhtaruzzaman’s dedication to academia is matched by his passion for mentoring students and fostering a vibrant research environment. His work aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by promoting practical, impactful solutions to real-world problems. Beyond academia, he is actively involved in competitive programming and tech community development. He has played a pivotal role in organizing prestigious programming contests such as the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) and the National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC). Notably, he was one of the lead organizers of the ICPC World Finals 2022, hosted in Dhaka, Bangladesh, by UAP—a landmark event in the global programming community.
Additionally, Adnan is passionate about professional development. He regularly conducts advanced training courses for government and non-government professionals at institutions like NIMCA (National Institute of Mass Communication), BKICT (Bangladesh Korea Institute of Information and Communication Technology), and BCC (Bangladesh Computer Council). His dedication to education, research, and community engagement has established him as a respected figure in Bangladesh’s computer science landscape.
