Shihab Muhtasim is an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Brac University. He teaches several fundamental and advanced courses, including Object-Oriented Programming, Microprocessors, Artificial Intelligence, Data Structures, and Operating Systems. His teaching approach emphasizes clarity, real-world applications, and hands-on learning to help students build strong problem-solving skills.

 

Academically, he has demonstrated excellence throughout his career. He graduated as the valedictorian and Chancellor's Gold Medalist from Brac University with a perfect CGPA of 4.0. His passion for computer science extends beyond academics, as he actively engages in research and mentoring.

 

His research interests lie in network science, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), computer vision, and image processing. His undergraduate thesis explored the intersection of network science and machine learning, achieving a score of 99.56 out of 100. The work focused on analyzing complex social networks in order to predict the popularity of social trends that spread through hashtags. He is currently in the process of publishing this research, aiming to contribute to the broader scientific community.

 

Beyond research, he has experience in software development, competitive programming, and academic mentoring. His dedication to teaching and research reflects his commitment to fostering a strong learning environment. He continues to explore new methodologies in AI and computing, aiming to inspire the next generation of engineers and researchers.
