CSE Course Sequence Change Notice

posted: 22,Dec-23

Changes to the course requirements for
CSE220 (Data Structures)
and
CSE420 (Compiler Design):

Starting from the upcoming semester, it will be mandatory for all students to have completed CSE111 (Programming Language II) and CSE230 (Discrete Mathematics) before enrolling in CSE220. Similarly, completion of CSE321 (Operating Systems), CSE331 (Automata and Computability), and CSE340 (Computer Architecture) is mandatory before enrolling in CSE420. These courses are designed to provide students with a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts, which will be crucial in comprehending the intricacies of the subsequent courses.

We firmly believe that these changes will benefit you in the long run, as they will enable you to have a better grasp of the course material in CSE220 and CSE420.

For the first year students, it is recommended that after CSE110, you take CSE230 with CSE111.

Please make sure that you have completed:
CSE111 and CSE230 before you try to enroll in CSE220.

CSE321 and CSE331 and CSE340 before you try to enroll in CSE420.
