Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam is working as an Associate Professor and the Director of CVIS Research Lab (Conputer Vision and Intelligent Systems) at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in BRAC University. Prior to joining BRAC University, Dr. Alam was working as a Post-Doc. at the School of Information and Communication Engineering in Chungbuk National University, South Korea. He received his Doctor of Engineering degree in Computer and Communication Engineering from the same university in February 2015. During his PhD program, he had been awarded “BK21 Best Student Award” in 2014 for his outstanding achievements as a BK21 scholar. Dr. Alam has published more than 70 papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Alam's research interests include computer vision & image processing, machine learning & machine vision, 3-D vision, medical data and image analytics, virtual and augmented reality. He is also engaged as Reviewer, Editorial Board Member, and Lead Guest Editor (Special issue) in reputed international journals.
